Djibouti in collaboration with African Development Bank (AfDB) has launched the Integrated Urban Infrastructure and Climate Adaptation Study Project.
The study, according to AfDB, is expected to lead to a road map for improving access to resilient urban infrastructure and basic services besides building institutional capacity for inclusive and participatory urban planning and management while addressing gender disparities.

The project, which is financed by a US$3.8 million grant from AfDB and implemented by the Djibouti Roads Agency, runs for three years.
The new Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Djibouti adopted by AfDB in February 2023 gives priority to socio-economic infrastructure development in the energy and transport sectors to help improve the mobility of the population and promote trade, and increase production and distribution of cleaner, less expensive energy.
