UN Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism Call for Applications

UNWTO Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism were created in 2003 "to recognize the work of organizations and individuals around the world that ... foster innovation in tourism and build a more sustainable and responsible tourism."United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the specialised agency of the United Nations in charge of travel business, invites submissions to the 14th annual edition of its Awards for Innovation in Tourism.

UNWTO Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism were created in 2003 “to recognize the work of organizations and individuals around the world that … foster innovation in tourism and build a more sustainable and responsible tourism.”

Panelists in action during the 13th UNWTO Awards in 2017While application for the UNWTO Ethics Award is limited to signatories of the Private Sector Commitment to the Code of Ethics, tourism organizations or businesses are eligible for consideration for the UNWTO Award for Innovation in Tourism in four categories:Public Policy and Governance;Enterprises;Non-Governmental Organisations; and Research and Technology.

UNWTO Awards are co-organised in collaboration with International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR/IFEMA)The deadline for submitting applications to the competition that is organised by UNWTO in collaboration with the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR/IFEMA), is September 30, 2017. Applications are to be sent to awards@unwto.org.
